- MVHR & ventilation
Fresh air, without the heat loss. MVHR & ventilation installation in Hastings & East Sussex
Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) for new builds, renovations, extensions and basements. Designed, installed, balanced and commissioned to Building Regulations Part F.
What MVHR does
We design and install new MVHR systems. An MVHR unit runs quietly in the background, extracting damp, stale air from kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms and supplying filtered fresh air to bedrooms and living spaces. A heat exchanger transfers most of the warmth from the outgoing air into the incoming air, so you get fresh air without throwing away heat.
- Controls condensation and mould in airtight homes
- Filtered air: less dust and pollen
- Keeps the heat you pay for
- Quiet, continuous ventilation with boost for cooking and showers
Design, installation and commissioning
We design the ductwork and valve layout around the building, install the unit and ducting neatly, then balance every supply and extract point to its design airflow. You get a commissioning record for Building Control and Part F sign-off. We work with leading MVHR brands including Vent-Axia and Duco.
Where we fit MVHR
- New builds, self-builds and developers
- Deep retrofits and whole-house renovations
- Extensions, loft conversions and garden rooms
- Basements, including heritage-sensitive buildings
MVHR looks after fresh air and humidity. For heating and cooling, pair it with air conditioning or air-to-air heat pumps. We design both so they work together.
How an MVHR project runs
Four stages- 01
Survey & design
Room-by-room airflow rates, unit sizing, duct routes and valve positions.
- 02
Installation
Unit, insulated ductwork, valves and condensate, installed neatly and sealed.
- 03
Commissioning
Every valve balanced to design airflow, with a Part F commissioning record.
- 04
Handover
Controls set up, filter guidance and documentation for you and Building Control.
MVHR FAQs
FAQWhat is MVHR?
Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) continuously extracts stale, moist air from kitchens and bathrooms and supplies filtered fresh air to living spaces, recovering most of the heat from the outgoing air so you don’t lose warmth.
Do I need MVHR?
It suits airtight new builds, deep renovations, extensions and basements, where natural ventilation isn’t enough to control condensation, mould and indoor air quality.
Do you commission and balance MVHR systems?
Yes. We balance each system to its design airflow rates and provide the commissioning record needed for Building Regulations Part F sign-off.
Can MVHR work alongside air conditioning?
Yes. MVHR handles fresh air and humidity; air conditioning handles heating and cooling. We design them to work together without fighting each other.
Do you work with builders and developers?
Yes. We design and install new MVHR systems for new builds, self-builds and renovations, working alongside the builder from first fix to commissioning.
